2023 OUTLAW FWD RULES
SAFETY:
1. All vehicles must have a minimum of a 4 post roll cage with at least 3 bars at the driver’s door and a welded or bolted steel plate of 1/8” x 18” x 30” at the driver’s door.
2. A full 5 point restraint system is required and must be in good shape.
3. Window nets must be always used during participation and in good shape.
4. Neck collars or HANS type devices are required for all participants and in good shape.
5. A minimum 2 1/2” lb. fire extinguisher is required to be securely mounted within the driver’s reach.
6. Raceceiver type communication devices required for all classes.
BODY:
1. Front wheel drive cars only. No convertible, 2 seat coupe or mid-engine vehicles are permitted.
2. Look alike Late Model bodies allowed. An aftermarket Mini Stock nose or tail pc. is allowed. Aftermarket Late Model style Wedge Nose pieces permitted
3. All doors must be welded or bolted shut. Chains are not permitted.
4. Hood and trunk must be operable and held down with 2 quick release hood type pins provided the factory hinges are in place. If factory hinges are removed 4 quick release hood type pins must be used. All factory hood, trunk and hatch latches must be removed. Hatchbacks may remove bolt or weld hatch.
5. Spoilers are allowed with a maximum of height of 4” and no wider than the width of the car. Spoilers must be clear material.
6. Nerf bars must be no larger than 1” in diameter and smoothly capped. A minimum of 4 smooth head bolts must be used for securement. Carriage or equivalent bolts recommended.
BODY CONT:
7. All mirrors, headlights, taillights, marker lights, antennas, hitches and loose exterior trim or aftermarket accessories must be removed.
8. All interior carpet, upholstery, trim, door panels, headliners, mirrors, dash pads or any other flammable material must be removed. This includes hood insulation and any carpet or liners in the trunk area.
9. All Exterior glass must be removed. Sunroofs must be covered with a one piece sheet metal patch that must be welded, bolted or riveted in place. Full Lexan windshields are required. No partial windshields.
10. All loose rust flakes or glass must be removed from both the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
11. Aluminum racing seats are required. Rear of seat must be secured to the horizontal crossbar of the rear roll cage hoop. Bolting seat to the floor is prohibited.
CHASSIS, SUSPENSION, AND STEERING:
1. Chassis may remain factory stock and be complete. Tube chassis are permitted.
2. A minimum 4 point roll cage must be installed. Minimum front hoop to struts; complete tube hoop recommended. Tube or plate steel mounting points along the rocker areas are permitted in the interest of safety. No cages welded to the floor. 1 3/4” maximum rear bars from the top of the cage angling downward are permitted and may have an X bar between them.
3. Steering & Suspension – All steering and suspension will remain stock appearing . You may have a quick release steering wheel for safety and can replace a stock steering column with a collapsible column for safety. Heims joint tie rods allowed. After market control arms and mounts permitted.
4. All struts/shocks will be stock steel with no adjustable strut valving of any kind. Slip on coil over sleeves allowed.
5. Gas Tanks – If the stock gas tank is located ahead of the rear axle, it may remain in place as is. Double check the gas lines and the tank straps, replace them if they are worn. All stock tanks located behind the rear end must be replaced and relocated in the trunk area. You may use a stock tank that is in good condition or an 8-gallon or a smaller racing approved fuel cell. It must be placed in the trunk. These external tanks must have a metal frame to hold the tanks in place and must be strapped in place securely. A couple loops of plumbers strap will not suffice for this, these tanks must be secured solid. If you have a tank in the trunk area, you must patch your entire rear firewall with sheet metal, so you can’t see any of the trunk area from inside of the driver’s cockpit area.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION:
1. Factory 4- or 6-cylinder engines No Rotary, boxer, or Cosworth engines permitted.
2. Fuel delivery system must be factory style for the engine. No multiple carburetors, super chargers or turbo chargers are permitted.
3. Anti-freeze must be removed from all vehicles.
4. Stock transmissions for the make are required. No altering of transmissions. Racing clutches are permitted.
5. Exhaust must exit behind the driver’s seat. Headers are permitted. Maximum of 3” O.D. exhaust pipe is mandatory. Catalytic convertors may be removed.
6. Vehicle must start with either the factory key or a simple push button/toggle switch.
7. Batteries must always be secured. Batteries must be mounted securely inside the cockpit of the vehicle behind the driver in approved battery box.
TIRES AND WHEELS:
1. Right side mandatory racing type steel safety wheel not to exceed 2 in back set with a maximum width of 7”. Left side may be stock steel wheel or steel racing wheel not to exceed 2 in back set with 7" maximum width. No aluminum wheels allowed!
2. 1” lug nuts are required on all wheels.
3. No wheel weights are permitted on either the inside or outside of any wheel.
4. Only DOT compliant 60,65, 70, 75 OR 80 series radial tires 195 or smaller are permitted. Hoosier 790 795 Tires will also be permitted.

ALL RULES INTERPRETATIONS AND RULINGS ARE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE TECHNICAL DIRECTOR AND ARE FINAL! CARS MUST CONFORM TO THE RULES AND BE LEGAL FOR EVERY EVENT! THERE WILL NO LONGER BE ANY 1 WEEK GRACE PERIODS!
